This Three Bedroom house used to be the main house for the Casa del Toro Bed and Breakfast. The Bed and Breakfast was named by Money Magazine as their favorite place to stay in Santa Fe. Because of the notariety we outgrew this space and moved to a bigger house just down the street, and converted the house to a vacation rental.
Location is fantastic, 229 Mc Kenzie is part of the downtown Santa Fe Plaza Area, and just 1/2 Mile to the direct center of Santa Fe, the Square. There are restaraunts, museums and galleries all within 400 feet of the building but it still has a nice residental feel as well.
The Georgia O'Keeffee Museum is about 200 feet away.
The house consists of a living room with a beautiful Kiva Fireplace, and three bedrooms. Each bedroom has a private bath. Bedroom 1 has a queen bed, a kiva fireplace, and a jetted tub in the bathroom. It also has a large closet that we converted into a small sitting room. It's Perfect for getting away from the rest of your group, or sleeping for a small child. Bedroom 2 has a king bed and a large shower, but no tub.
Bedroom 3 is handicapped accessable, has a private bath with shower and another, LARGER, but still relatively small sitting room. It also has a nice porch where everyone can gather.
The main part of the house consists of a living room with a beautiful kiva fireplace and a full kitchen that used to serve as the kitchen for our b and b.
The house is beautiful, with Saltillo tiles throughout, lots of southwestern art, accents, and style throughout. You will definitely feel like you are staying in Santa Fe!!
